About the CAMFT Santa Cruz Chapter

Events and Education

The Santa Cruz chapter holds monthly informal training sessions as well as regular CEU-eligible trainings. This website provides numerous articles of interest to members and the public. Under the News & Events menu above, there are details on trainings, registration, and links to articles.

SC-CAMFT Board Meetings

Meetings are open to all members and to the public. They are held the 2nd Friday of every month from 12:15 to 2:15. Please call (831) 429-7786 for address and directions. For the names and contact information of board members, click on the Board members link from the About Us tab above.

Prelicensed Support Group

The prelicensed therapists group meets the 3rd Friday of each month from 12:15 to 1:45 and includes interns, trainees, and students in practicum who are in the process of becoming licensed therapists. All members receive the benefit of associating with licensed therapists; education and training; information about current placement opportunities with public agencies and private practitioners; and information about licensing requirements and legislative changes. Eligibility for membership requires membership in the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists and Santa Cruz CAMFT. Those of you who are currently working as counselors, trainees, and interns, or are interested in this profession are invited to join us at our monthly meetings. Nonmembers of SC-CAMFT may feel free to drop in once before deciding on membership--we welcome your interest! Email our prelicensed support chair for the group meeting location, or leave a message at (831) 429-7786 and we will call you back.

Email Notification of SC-CAMFT News and Sponsored Events

Several times a month, notices are sent by email about SC-CAMFT sponsored trainings, Café CAMFT topics, board issues, and other professional information relevant to the practice of our profession. To be included on our email list, contact our Media Coordinator or watch for notices in our newsletter, Voices and Visions, and in local publications, the Good Times and the Sentinel.

SC-CAMFT’s Email Policy

SC-CAMFT uses the membership email list only for official SC-CAMFT business. This includes chapter-sponsored trainings and trainings cosponsored by affiliated organizations, such as Monterey County CAMFT and the Monterey Bay Psychological Association. The email list is also used disseminate information about Café CAMFT, the newsletter, the chapter directory, the phone tree, and other direct board business. Because a substantial percentage of our membership have told us they do not want to receive advertising, nonchapter-sponsored training notices, or solicitation of any kind, and because it is the age of spamming and information overload, we respect this need for privacy.

We encourage our membership to use other existing vehicles to reach fellow members, including through purchasing local or state CAMFT mailing lists, using the state CAMFT listserve, and submitting articles and advertising to our chapter newsletter.

Phone Tree

The phone tree list has been phased out as of August 1, 2008. Please notify the Media Coordinator with your email address or look for information on the website.

Chapter Directory and Resource Guide

Our chapter directory and resource guide is available. This resource guide includes local therapists, along with a listing of individual specialties, orientations, office locations, and other contact information. This referral booklet parallels the online directory. You must be a licensed therapist or intern and a member of this chapter to be included in the directory. For information and inclusion in the next edition, please contact the Membership Chair.

Therapist Finder

As a member, you will be listed in the online directory, which is available to the public, unless you indicate that you do not want to be listed. If you have changes or updates to your listing, please email the Webmaster.
